EbE Representative Role
We are looking for an Expert by Experience (EbE) to bring the voice of lived experience to our training course

Duration: 4 hours per cohort, to be broken down into the following:
1 hour virtual initial meeting with training team, 1 hour virtual meeting prior to delivery to check in / ensure prepared, 2 hours on the day to cover delivery, any questions, debrief.
Location: Onsite at Woodside, Hellingly
Main Purpose: The Education & Training Team are launching the Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health. The course will be delivered to 12 learners per cohort, this will be a mixture of non-registered staff, e.g. Support Workers, Peer Support Workers, Occupational Therapy Assistants.
The pilot cohort is due to take place at Woodside Hellingly, starting in October 2025, we are then hoping to deliver 2 cohorts per year.
We are looking for 2 x Experts by Experience to attend the final taught session and share their story with the group. The hope is that experts will be able to share their journey, who they are, what led to them being involved with services and their experiences of non-registered members of the trust. The discussions around staff would need to be anonymous, with a focus on good practice that they have found helpful in their recovery as well as sharing constructively the practice that has been less helpful. They will need to feel comfortable to then answer any questions that the group may have.
Applicants will need to be available on 18th February 2026.
Applicants will need to feel comfortable sharing to a group of 12 learners and 2 trainers and answering questions.
Preparation & debriefing details: A 1 hour introductory virtual meeting with training team, a 1 hour virtual check in prior to delivery to ensure feel prepared.
On the day, following their delivery, a member of the Education & Training team will be available to sit with the EBE's in a separate space to ensure feeling psychologically safe before leaving and to allow them to reflect on the session.
Relevance of lived experience to role duties: Those who have received support directly from unqualified staff, e.g. support workers, peer support workers, occupational therapy assistants.
Skills Experience: Computer / Digital Interpersonal Oral & written communication
Service Experience: Direct experience with non-registered staff is required, this can be within any trust service.
