Gardening Volunteer (Mill view Hospital)

At Mill View Hospital we care for people with acute mental health problems until they are ready to leave hospital and live in the community.

We provide care and treatment to adults with acute mental health needs to aid recovery and wellbeing. We have 81 beds at Mill View Hospital divided between five wards:

• Palmeira Ward and Regency Ward are single gender wards for adults

• Falmer Ward is a mixed gender ward for adults

• Meridian Ward is a mixed gender ward for people aged over 65

• Pavilion Ward is a male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit

We are looking for a volunteer to help maintain the garden in between gardening groups. We have a contract for lawn cutting and hedge trimming. However, the we need additional support with the gardens to bring them to their full glory such as potting, growing veg, supporting patients in taking pride in the gardens etc.

If the volunteer would also like to join in with our group work to support patient engagement, that will be supported and can be worked towards following the correct procedures.
